Hemingways Ol Seki Mara’s New Look

We are delighted to share Ol Seki’s exciting and refreshing new look which elevates the experience of staying at the camp substantially and, we believe, provides a new level luxury for camps in the Mara conservancies. We re-opened the camp in July and have been able to complete the refurbishment and upgrade of four Nina (double) tents as well as the substantial upgrade to the dining and lounge area overlooking the pool and Koiyaki plains.

Our new Nina tents have floor-to-ceiling folding glass frontages, with higher ceilings to give the best possible views over the Mara, completely new bathrooms with more luxurious fixtures and fittings including free standing bath tubs and indoor and outdoor showers, and re-configured layouts for even greater privacy.

The dining room and lounge area has been completely redesigned to create a larger open plan space for relaxation and dining, including a new bar and sunken baraza seating space, all of which will make the most of the fabulous views over the Mara plains

Taking inspiration from the circular shape and Bedouin feel of the Nina tents, the team at White Elephant Kenya have worked their magic on the interior design, introducing a tribal nomadic theme using hand carved mango wood, raffia and bakuba wall hangings from central Africa, locally hand-woven fabrics and custom designed brass and alabaster stone lights. Lattice wood divides, used throughout the new tents, dining and lounge areas, represent a modern take on a traditional Morroccan screen and allow for gentle air flow in the heat of the day and a cozy feel during the chilly nights.

As we re-open, we have the following tent inventory in use:

Original Simba family suite

Work is ongoing on the new Simba family suited tent at its new location and we will advise in due course once the work is complete. The traditional Simba tent is available and in use whilst we complete work on the new, improved version.

The four remaining original Nina tents will be upgraded in Q1 2023 and will therefore be removed from inventory for reservations during that period. The layout of Ol Seki will allow us to complete the necessary work quietly whilst keeping the rest of camp open and available for guests to enjoy.

Rejuventated Dulini Moya captures the spirit of the Sabi Sand

The Dulini Collection is proud to unveil the rejuvenated Dulini Moya, a five-star safari lodge in South Africa’s game-rich Sabi Sand Game Reserve. 

The upgrade of Dulini Moya saw the communal lounge area entirely revamped. Walls were removed to create an airy open-sided space with bushveld views, while the new signature fireplace creates a welcoming area for guests to gather before and after twice-daily game drives. The intimate new Winter Lounge offers a quiet space for conversation and delving into the curated library and leads into a spacious new wine cellar capable of hosting private dinners. The creation of a semi-enclosed Dining Sala provides an all-weather venue overlooking the lodge’s indigenous gardens. 

In the six guest suites, extensive renovations have raised the ceilings and enlarged both windows and sliding doors to let in more natural light, creating an airy sense of space. Private decks boast heated plunge pools, while floor-to-ceiling glass walls maximise the wilderness views throughout the suite. The décor revamp extends to the soft furnishings, with the addition of locally made textiles, luxuriant bedspreads and handcrafted artworks and furniture. 

 While the look and layout of Dulini Moya have been updated, the authentic African hospitality remains unchanged!

Savanna and Dulini extend 2020 rates for travel into 2021

Savanna Private Game Reserve and The Dulini Collection will be extending their 2020 rate for bookings made now, until 31 August 2020 for travel anytime in 2021.

By holding the 2020 rate for 5 months of booking time, we hope that our core markets will not only take advantage of the rate hold, but will also make the most of the much weaken ZAR, to assist with closing new business.

In addition to this, we are introducing a special:

15% discount off contracted 2020 accommodation rates for travel from Aug 2020- 31 March 2021 
Subject to the following terms:
•    Travel dates from Aug 2020- 31 March 2021.
•    Min stay 3 nights or more subject to availability.
•    Cannot be combined with any other special offers.
•    Applies to new bookings only

Due to the current global uncertainty, we do not feel we can implement firm 2021 rates or policies at this time and will review at a later stage. We will also gladly offer date changes to any of these new 2021 bookings, should this Pandemic continue into 2021.

For the remainder of 2020, The Dulini Collection reserves the right to operate from one lodge, due to logistics and safety for our staff and travellers, unless booking demand dictates otherwise.

New Infinity Swimming Pool at Hemingways Ol Seki

Great News!
Hemingways Ol Seki new infinity pool is complete and open for use.

The brand-new infinity pool is all ran entirely off-grid by the lodge’s solar farm. With some of the best views in the Mara overlooking a beautiful watering hole and the Koiyaki plains, Hemingways Ol Seki Mara’s new pool will be the perfect vantage point for game viewing from the comfort of a lounger or a deck chair, with G&T in hand.

Maintaining Ol Seki’s character, charm and authenticity, the new pool was built into the rock – traditionally common sunbathing spots for the lodge’s friendly rock hyrax – offering a calm and peaceful retreat, tucked below the main camp.

The new area will be an oasis of luxury for guests to soak up the sun and recharge in between game drives, while the beautiful new fire pit and seating area will be an ideal and rather magical spot for those traditional evening Mara sundowners.
